The United States President openly expressed his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently facing corruption charges.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face serious corruption charges. However, ahead of his appearance, former U.S. President Donald Trump has come forward in his defense.
Trump expressed shock over the situation, stating, “This is the first time a sitting Israeli Prime Minister is being put on trial. I was stunned to hear this.”
He noted that Netanyahu is facing a long-running trial that began in May 2020 and emphasized that Israel has recently experienced one of the greatest moments in its history.
Referring to their shared history, Trump added, “Netanyahu and I went through some of the toughest times fighting a common enemy like Iran. The trial against Netanyahu should be canceled immediately. He should be granted a pardon. A person who showed great wisdom in terms of country’s defense should not be trapped in such baseless trials”
Trump also argued that “numerous unfair accusations” have been made against Netanyahu in an attempt to damage him. “It’s unimaginable for me that a man who has done so much is now being targeted like this. This is completely unfair,” he said.
“Such a WITCH HUNT, for a man who has given so much, is unthinkable to me. He deserves much better than this, and so does the State of Israel. Bibi Netanyahu’s trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero,” he added.
Trump further stated, “There is no one better than Netanyahu when it comes to working with a U.S. President. We cannot allow this broken form of justice to prevail. It was America that saved Israel — and now, it’s going to save Netanyahu.”
