U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that his relationship with Elon Musk is over, warning that if Musk donates to the Democrats, he will face serious consequences.
In an interview with American media, Trump declined to specify what those consequences might be.
When asked about his relationship with the world’s richest man, Trump said it has ended, and he has no desire to mend it or speak with Elon Musk.
Trump also added that he has not yet considered terminating the U.S. government’s contracts with Musk’s companies, including Starlink satellite internet and SpaceX rocket launch services.
It is important to mention here that earlier Elon Musk has confirmed his exit from Trump administration, ending his tumultuous tenure as special government employee leading Department of Government Efficiency
Musk thanked former US President Donald Trump for giving him the chance to spearhead the Doge initiative, which sought to reduce federal spending and simplify government bureaucracy, in a message shared on his social media platform X.
“I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending as my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end,” he wrote.
“As the @DOGE mission becomes ingrained in the government, it will only get stronger over time.”
Musk was permitted to work up to 130 days a year in his temporary position, which was permitted by law for outside experts who assist with government functions.
The White House started “offboarding” Musk on Wednesday night, according to people familiar with the situation who spoke to the BBC.
Many corelated Musk’s departure with his public criticism of Trump’s recently proposed budget, however it is not confirmed yet.
