Türkiye and Russia have issued strong condemnations of Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran calling it an attempt to sabotage regional peace.
In a forceful statement released Friday, Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry denounced the Israeli offensive as a clear breach of international law and a dangerous provocation.
“This attack is a provocative act that blatantly violates international law and aligns with Israel’s broader strategy to destabilize the region,” the ministry said. It also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deliberately undermining diplomatic efforts.
“Netanyahu is not interested in resolving conflicts through diplomacy and is willing to endanger regional stability and global peace for his own political agenda,” the statement added.
In Russia, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also voiced deep concern over the rapidly intensifying situation. Speaking to Russian media, Peskov said the Kremlin was monitoring developments closely and called for restraint from all parties.
“The sharp escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran is alarming,” Peskov stated, according to Interfax news agency. “President Putin is closely following the situation after the attacks.”
Russia maintains strategic relations with both Iran and Israel and has consistently pushed for dialogue and de-escalation in the region.
The coordinated responses from Ankara and Moscow come as international alarm grows over the Israeli strikes, which represent one of the most direct confrontations between the two regional rivals in years.
Earlier Saudi Arabia fiercely criticized Israel’s airstrikes on Tehran, which killed several high-ranking Iranian military officers and nuclear scientists, calling them a “blatant violation” of international law and a threat to regional security.
Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing “strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant Israeli aggressions against the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran, which undermine its sovereignty and security and constitute a clear violation of international laws and norms.”
The Kingdom also urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take prompt action to stop the aggression, saying that it could further destabilize an already fragile region.
