The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has refuted rumors making the rounds on social media that it has started to deny Pakistanis entry.
To counter the misleading misinformation, Bakheet Obaid Al-Roumi, the general consul of the UAE, has released a video message.
As per Al-Roumi, Pakistanis are not prohibited from obtaining a visa, and the visa division of the UAE embassy is still operational. Pakistanis are able to visit the UAE without restriction and without a limit on age in order to get employment permits.
The Foreign Office stated on June 7 of this month that travel over the Pakistan-Afghanistan border need to be subject to visa requirements.
According to spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, anyone wanting to travel from Afghanistan to Pakistan has to have both an Afghan passport and a visa. She emphasized that visa requirements should be followed when crossing the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In the meantime, Italy began offering visa services in the ancient city of Lahore on March 7. Similar services will shortly be introduced in other significant locations around the nation.
First Secretary Augusto Palmeiri of the Italian Embassy made the announcement while giving a speech to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
