As per Khaleej Times, overstayers are urged to take an advantage of visa amnesty until it ended on December 31.
The amnesty program is announced for the overstayers to gain more time to attain a suitable residency or return to their home countries without facing penalties.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, stressed the importance of acting promptly. “The amnesty is ending soon, and overstayers must use the remaining time to rectify their residency violations,†he said.
Major General Salah Al Qamzi, assistant director general for the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector, cautioned that strict measures and intensified inspections would be enforced against those who fail to comply. “We are dedicated to enforcing the law with transparency and fairness,†he added.
Al Marri urged the community to help spread awareness about the amnesty. He emphasized that many individuals have already benefited, with some even securing employment. “People still visit my office asking if the amnesty is genuine. They need to know that we are here to help,†he said.
He also addressed challenges faced by children in UAE without visas. Al Marri assured that Dubai Health will provide necessary vaccinations and medical care to ensure outsiders well-being.
