The US-led coalition and Iraqi security forces jointly murdered ISIS commander Abu Khadija, also known as Abdallah Makki Muslih al-Rufayi, the commander of the Daesh terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The development was verified by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Friday, March 14, who described Abu Khadija as “one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world.”
On March 13, US Central Command (CENTCOM) soldiers, working with Iraqi intelligence and security forces, conducted a precise attack in the western Iraqi province of Al Anbar.
Abu Khadija, the second-in-command of ISIS worldwide and a crucial player in the organization’s operations, financial network, and logistics, was effectively targeted by the hit.
On his Truth Social platform, US President Donald Trump made the announcement, saying that the ISIS leader was “relentlessly hunted down by our intrepid warfighters.”
He added, “In cooperation with the Kurdish Regional Government and the Iraqi Government, his wretched existence was ended, along with another ISIS member. STRENGTH THROUGH PEACE!”
Additionally, CENTCOM confirmed the identification of the ISIS leader through DNA analysis in a statement posted on X (previously Twitter).
According to the agency, ISISÂ commander Abu Khadija and another ISIS member were determined to have been highly armed at the time of their deaths and to have been wearing unexploded suicide vests.
