Uzbekistan Airways is set to begin direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad starting from May 24, 2025.
The launching of Uzbekistan Airways Islamabad flights is expected to boost the connectivity betwen the two countries.
This new air link marks a significant step in strengthening travel and connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. According to the Uzbek embassy in Islamabad, the direct route will help enhance people-to-people contact, promote tourism, and improve trade relations between the two countries.
Initially, flights will operate once a week, every Saturday. Talks are currently underway with Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority to finalize all necessary permissions and arrangements. If there is sufficient demand, the number of flights may be increased in the future which is more than a day in a week.
Uzbekistan Airways is also exploring the possibility of launching direct flights to Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city and commercial hub.
At present, the airline already operates bi-weekly flights from Tashkent to Lahore, scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays. These services have played a key role in connecting both countries. With the addition of the Islamabad route and the potential Karachi flights, Uzbekistan Airways is expanding its presence in Pakistan.
This expansion will offer greater convenience to travelers while also contributing to stronger economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between the two nations.
