Israel attacked Iran on Friday, hitting nuclear facilities, factories that produce missiles and nuclear materials, Iranian commanders, and military forces, with Iranian media and observers reported the sound of explosions at the country’s main uranium enrichment facility.
Where has Israel struck?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained the target was “nuclear scientists working on the Iranian bomb.”.
In a taped video message, Netanyahu labeled Iran’s nuclear program a “clear and present danger to Israel’s very survival” and promised to “defend against the threat of annihilation.”
An Israeli military source states that the country struck Iranian nuclear facilities, without specifying them, according to the Associated Press.
The officer addressed reporters on condition of anonymity to talk about the operation, which is also aimed at military targets.
Why is Israel attacking Iran?
Israel’s government claimed that Iran’s accelerated enrichment of uranium and the deployment of high-end centrifuges were the main reasons for the attack.
Netanyahu said that Iran had enriched enough uranium to produce several nuclear bombs, and recent reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) determined that Iran was in breach of its nuclear commitments for the first time in 20 years.
According to an Israeli military official, Israel regarded Iran’s nuclear armament as an existential threat and would work to eliminate their capabilities.
Israeli Airstrikes
Reuters reports that residential neighborhoods in Tehran as well as several other Iranian cities were targeted in the attacks. It’s believed that Tabriz, Kermanshah, Arak and Isfahan were also hit in the first assault.

Iran’s primary known nuclear sites are the Natanz enrichment facilities, Fordow enrichment plant south of Tehran, Arak heavy water reactor, multi-purpose Isfahan, Bushehr nuclear power plant, and an incomplete reactor at Khondab.
