The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the schedule for the 2025 edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, set to take place across India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November.
According to the finalized plan, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will launch their tournament journey on 2 October in Colombo, with all of their group-stage matches hosted at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. This arrangement is in line with the hybrid model previously detailed by the ICC in December 2024.
Should the team secure a place in the knockout rounds, Colombo will also host both the semi-final on 29 October and the final on 2 November. However, if Pakistan does not advance past the group stage, the remaining key matches will shift locations—Guwahati for the semi-final and Bengaluru for the final.
Led by Fatima Sana, the Pakistan squad earned their World Cup spot by dominating the qualification tournament in Lahore, where they emerged undefeated in five matches earlier this year.
The Green Shirts will open against Bangladesh on 2 October, followed by a high-profile clash with India on 5 October. On 8 October, they will challenge defending champions Australia, before taking on 2022 finalists England on 15 October.
The final phase of the round-robin will see Pakistan go up against New Zealand (18 October), South Africa (21 October), and tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka (24 October).
As per ICC guidelines, all competing sides will feature in two warm-up matches each, beginning from 24 September.
