Yango Ride, the global ride-hailing company and subsidiary of global tech firm Yango Group, has launched a fleet of electric rickshaws in Lahore, a significant milestone in its drive for sustainable city transport.
This launch, driven by a strategic tie-up with Wasl Mobility Modaraba, brings with it a cleaner, quieter option to the usual rickshaw, one that is kinder to the planet and to the daily commuter.
Electric rickshaws are a crucial means of curbing urban pollution and noise, particularly in highly concentrated cities like Lahore, where traditional rickshaws contribute significantly to carbon footprints.
Yango’s new EV fleet is meant to provide a smoother, more dependable, and cheaper trip for riders while providing new income sources for local drivers.
“The introduction of electric rickshaws, designed by the gifted artist Umair Najeeb, is an eye-catching landmark on our path to providing Pakistan with contemporary, eco-friendly mobility solutions. It is yet another step in our quest to promote new ride choice as well as towards creating a cleaner, smarter future for urban transport.”
Wasl Mobility Modaraba is facilitating the switch to electric cars by offering Shariah-compliant lease and financing products that reduce car ownership costs for drivers. With minimal down payments, fast approvals, and flexible leasing options, more drivers are now able to join the electric mobility revolution.
“”We are looking forward to making Wasl Mobility Modaraba a leading stakeholder in Pakistan’s transition towards sustainable transportation; this investment in the fleet demonstrates our dedication to innovation and the elimination of cost hurdles for electric mobility.,” said Saif Tariq, CEO at Wasl Mobility Modaraba.
The partnership between Yango and Wasl is not just about innovation, it’s also an example of sustainable growth and development.
