Bollywood’s famous singer and music producer, Honey Singh, has admitted to gaining knowledge about Islam.
In a recent interview with Indian media, Honey Singh shared hidden aspects of his life, stating that most of the information about him on the internet is false, but he deliberately did not correct it as he was waiting for the right time.
Honey Singh revealed, “My story is quite interesting. I used to play the tabla at home, and when my father enrolled me in a school in Indian Punjab, I began playing the tabla there as well. At the age of 12, I abandoned both the tabla and my faith, becoming an atheist. From my spiritual guru, I learned about Hinduism, and from my upbringing at home, I understood Sikhism. But after becoming an atheist, I decided that I wouldn’t believe in religion, though I would continue learning about it.”
Honey Singh labeled his own hit song “Blue Hai Pani” as a foolish song.
He further shared, “In 2007, I moved to Mohali. I wasn’t famous at the time, nor did I have any work. I was just a music producer, but during that time, I had the opportunity to learn about Islam from scholars and Sufi figures. People began associating me with Islam, but in reality, I was still an atheist.”
The singer said, “During that time, I gathered information about Islam from these scholars. I learned about Prophet Musa Peace Be Upon Him and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was then that I discovered where Prophet Isa Peace Be Upon Him is mentioned in the Quran. Sitting with these religious figures created a unique environment. I was just an ordinary boy who asked them tough questions, but these scholars would always answer every one of them.”
Honey Singh added, “After gaining fame in 2011, instead of thanking the Almighty, I got entangled with evil forces. As a result, both my life and my mind deteriorated. In 2018, after falling ill, I left atheism and embraced religion once again.”
