Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal secured a thrilling win over Malaysia in the semi-finals, and they are poised to compete in the final of Asian Doubles Squash Championship 2025. The pair will compete in Thursday's high-stakes final against the top-seeded Indian team of Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar. Zaman and Iqbal fought their way to the championship match, defeating Syafiq Kamal and Duncan Lee of Malaysia 2-1. The Pakistani pair won the one-hour and eight-minute match with scores of 10-11, 11-9, and 11-9. Their triumph followed an exciting match that enthralled the spectators at Kuala Lumpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The rivalry between the two countries was further heightened earlier in the day when Singh and Senthilkumar defeated Muhammad Asim Khan and Farhan Mehboob of Pakistan in straight sets to guarantee their spot in the final. The stage is set for an exciting final matchup between the two top seeds. The tournament's second-seeded players, Zaman and Iqbal, have been playing exceptionally well. They defeated Jiang Min Ryu and Jaijin Yoo of Korea in an exciting quarterfinal on their way to the final. They also put on strong performances in the group stage, defeating South Korea and the Philippines. Earlier this month, Zaman, the current World U-23 champion, participated in the Asian Individual Squash Championship but lost to Joachim Chuah of Malaysia in a five-game match in the pre-quarterfinals. Zaman and Iqbal will now try to give it their all as they get ready for the challenge presented by India's top seeds in the doubles final.
