In a significant political development, former Sindh governor Zubair Umar is poised to affiliate himself with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), signaling a major transition in his political journey.
Insiders familiar with the matter revealed that the ex-leader from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been engaged in behind-the-scenes discussions with PTI’s top brass, finalizing arrangements to switch allegiances.
Key members of PTI’s inner circle have reportedly been in communication with Umar for some time now.
The move has reportedly received the green light from PTI founder Imran Khan, who has endorsed Umar’s decision to step into the party’s fold.
Umar’s formal announcement is anticipated to take place either in the lead-up to or immediately following the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
