Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei has announced counterattack against Israel, responding to Ismail Haniyeh assassination.
He said Iran will bring the responsible of Hamas leader death to justice. “Haniyeh was our guest. We will not forgive his murderer”
Iranian President Masood Pezeshkian said Iran would answer properly the murderers of Haniyeh. Relationship between Iran and Palestine will cement further, he said, Tehran would not let Haniyeh’s blood go to waste.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRG) stated Israel will have to pay the price of this act manyfold and beyond its imagination. It said investigations are under process to find out from where the attack was launched.
World leaders have strongly condemned this assassination, fearing escalation of war in the entire region.
The United States refused to comment on Haniyeh’s murder but said it would stand with Israel. The US Defense Minister said America was working on peace but it would stand with Israel in case of any potential threat to the country.
Haniyeh was assassinated at his residence in Tehran on Wednesday morning. He was visiting Iran to attend the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Iranian President Mr. Masood.
China strongly condemned the incident stating it was concerned how the incident could possibly impact the region. Russian President Vladimir Petain said Haniyeh’s assassination in the Iranian territory was unacceptable. He termed the act gross violation of the international laws. Turkiye said the act would extend the war in the entire region. Qatar also condemned this incident stating would damage the peace efforts.
Pakistan called this act as barbaric and an effort to further escalate the situation and damage the regionals peace.
Palestinian President Mehmood Abbas has also strongly condemned Haniyeh’s assassination and said it would further worsen the situation.
Hamas announced taking revenge of its leader while Hizballah said Israel will have its result.

This comes less than 24 hours after three people, including two children, were killed and 74 wounded in an Israeli strike in Beirut. The Israeli military described its attack on Lebanon as a targeted operation against a Hezbollah commander. Following Mr., Haniyeh’s assassination, so far, intensified fight is being reported in the West Bank. A further 42 bodies were retrieved from eastern Khan Younis as Gaza officials say at least 300 Palestinians were killed during the nine-day Israeli army ground operation in the southern city. So far more than 39,400 people have been killed and 90,996 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza, according to reports.
